Impact of Napoleon-
Studying napoleon and his impact during the period 1800 - 1815 is a very interesting learning experience. A true flawed genius, he had his highs and his lows.
1) The french people who were disressed with the bad economic conditions and shortages were relieved by the economic stability, peace and tranquility.
2) His reforms strengthened revolutionary ideas like equality and fraternity.
3) He spread the ideas of revolution to other countries which inspired the creation of modern nation states like Italy and Germany.
4) The started a new epoch of judicial and administrative reforms which inspired other nations aswell.

6) He reversed the advances of the french revolution by declaring himself the emperor.
7) He placed family and friends as the monarch of other european states.
8) His failure in military planning during the russian campaign caused irreversible losses.
9) Economic miscalculation made against the british during the continental system deteriorated the condition of common men in france and threw him out of favour of the foreign territories that had initially welcomed him.
There are many a contradictions in his actions. Himself a product of the revolution, the undermined its basics. Though declaring himself the monarch he did in contrast stand strong on the ideals of liberty and equality.
